Get Loose and Our Packaging

Every Cha-no-Aji tea is a loose leaf tea and always will be&&.why?

First we simply believe they are BETTER and of course your choices in loose are immense plus we love the benefits received by enjoying the preparation of loose leaf tea. Second we are concerned about our environment and believe there is really no need for wasteful bags, staples, strings and tags.

Our teas are packaged in a biodegradable bag along with an oxygen absorber. Then we place this clear bag in our custom metal tea tin. We designed our tea tin with a small window on the lid allowing you to actually see our tea not just our pretty package. Finally we slip a sleeve around the tin to cover the window and protect your tea while you are storing it with a short description, our brewing recommendations and the contents. We suggest you slip off the sleeve to open your tea tin but slip it back on when you are storing your tea.

There are several wonderful ways to use your spent tea leaves long after you have enjoyed the cup following are just a few suggestions:

  1. Place a small dish of used leaves in the refrigerator to keep it smelling fresh.
  2. Wipe cutting boards and utensils between veggies and fish/meats/poultry.
  3. Preserve time honored “seasonings” AND clean frying pans or woks.
  4. Rubbing leaves between your hands will remove strong odors and feel great!
  5. Tea tannins contained in green tea reacts with irons and forms a film on the surface. By wiping iron kettles/pans etc the worry of rust is gone.
  6. Spread well drained used leaves on hard surface floors and sweep clean. Chinese restaurants use this trick to remove oil from the kitchen floor.
  7. Place used leaves in a tightly tied clean rag and use to polish your wood furniture. The luster will amaze you.
  8. Tea’s anti-bacterial affects makes it a perfect choice for your shoes. Dry leaves thoroughly then tuck into an old clean sock. Place the sock in your shoe closet or directly into the shoe.
  9. Consider adding spent tea leaves to your bath water. Be careful to contain in a bag to as not to create a messy clean up.
  10. Laying a few leaves on puffy eyes can bring relieve.
  11. Fill a pillow case full of old dry leaves and enjoy a more restful sleep.
  12. Acid loving plants will benefit from spent leaves in there dirt. Pests leave your rose alone with a little tea leaf at their base, blooming plants seem to give longer and bigger flowers and of course your compost pile with thank you!

We believe the benefit and value of tea ALL tea is simply amazing! We can not think of a single plant that has contributed so positively to mankind for as long or in as many ways as the “simple” tea plant. Whether you are consuming tea for the numerous health benefits, eating tea for a new and different experience or using tea to enrich your spiritual practices we encourage you to consider forgoing the ease of teabags in favor of the wide world of loose.
