Born in 1949, living in the Kyoto area but having studied glazing in Germany gives Toan Dobuchi’s work a “uniqueness” from other Kyoto Yaki (pottery). This kyusu is handmade using a red glaze which is the most difficult of all colors to work with. The sakura (cherry blossoms) are then hand painted making each piece an incredible work of ART! Beautifully packaged in a Japanese box with Dobuchi-san’s signature
